Max's Restaurant in SM Manila

Max's Restaurant is one of the favorite restaurants of my mom. Max's also has one of the most delicious fried chicken in town. It is also the cheapest fine dining there is.

Awhile ago, I treated my mom at Max's Restaurant. It was salary day so my mom asked me to treat her. I ordered Max's Chicken Burger and a glass of Pepsi Cola. My mom ordered a half sliced fried chicken and her favorite Kare-kare and 2 orders of soup of the day. My mom, also told me that if you didn't ordered there chicken, you didn't really eat at Max's.

Everything went well, the serving was fast and the soup was great, though it's not that much. However, when my mom tried the Kare-kare, the beef didn't taste good. She said it tasted like an old beef meat. I asked my mom if she wanted me to complain but my mom didn't want because she also has a restaurant and she also didn't want to receive any complaints.

Though the fried chicken is perfect, Kare-kare wasn't. I think, it's not a good idea not to complain because, they might serve the same meal to a not so good customers. Complaints are good way to help them make better meal.

Awhile ago, I and my mom went to Jollibee to take out the Jollibee Bucket Meal after eating in Max's Restaurant. This was the first time that I actually try to buy this value meal. Chickenjoy is Filipino all time favorite. No doubt about it. For kids and for kids at heart, Jollibee has always been a bestfriend. You are not a Filipino kid if you aren't able to try Jollibee's product, of course, except those who can't afford it. :)

Now, let's talk about the Jollibee's Bucket Meal. The Jollibee's Bucket Meal comprises of 6 pieces chickenjoy (regular or hot and spicy, it's really up to you), 3 regular ice tea and 3 cup of rice. It will cost you 375 pesos and they said that you already save 98 pesos if you buy the Jollibee's Bucket Meal. How is that possible? Ok let's compute. Two-piece chickenjoy meal, which comprises of of course 2 pieces of chicken, regular drink and a cup of rice, cost 128 pesos. If you will have three of this you will pay 384 pesos. So I think you don't really save 98 pesos but only 9 pesos. :) Another bad thing about the price of the Jollibee Bucket Meal is that if you don't like the drinks and the rice, you will pay 350 pesos, which let you save only 25 pesos for not having 3 drinks and 3 cup of rice...not really a good idea to remove the other part of the package, right?
The taste didn't change, actually, you will still get the chickenjoy that you like. :) However, it's not so big as the one in the pictures. :)

Box of the new Pizza Hut Viva Lasagna Pizza

Yesterday, around 1am in the morning, my brother and I decided to have a pizza delivered. It's the last day of his Palm Card. Pizza Hut's Palm Card let you have an extra pizza for free.My brother supposed to order the Pizza Hut Super Supreme, which we always ordered before but I told my brother to let us try the New Viva Lasagna Pizza. We supposed to try it before but Palm Card is not accepted with the new pizza. I just told my brother to order it and that they, they were already accepting the Palm Card. Nom I'm going to say something about the new Pizza Hut Viva Lasagna Pizza.

Viva Lasagna Pizza was introduced by Pizza Hut, I think, one month ago. I was a little hesitant to order it before because it's kinda weird to put a pasta in you pizza, though pasta and pizza are great combination. But to put it on a pizza? Kinda weird. When I tried it yesterday, I wasn't really in the mood to eat. I had already eaten my dinner, also a slice of pizza in Sbarro, which is kinda big, so I was really full. However, my brother insisted me to try it because it's the last day of his Palm Card. So I did. When I first had a bite with the new pizza., I like it though I was already full.

The lasagna part was thin that it has a nice feeling in my mouth. The ground beef was grind well so it wasn't hard to chew. The sauce was not so sour, it was a little sweet that most Filipino would like. However, the crust was a bit thin that it can't carry the bunch of ingredients on top of it. It's kinda messy to eat it if your just going to use your hands.

Our order came with an extra pizza, a regular Hawaiian Pizza and a 1.5 Pepsi Cola. The extra pizza has a thicker crust that the Viva Lasagna Pizza. I also love this pizza because even if it's already not hot, still it tastes nice.

However, my mom has a different point of view about the pizza, she doesn't like it. The fact that they combine pasta and pizza was not accepted by my mom. :) She said the ground beef tasted a little weird and the lasagna was not a good idea to put in a pizza. :) My baby liked it because the sauce wasn't so sour and my brother has no comment about the taste of it. Janine said it tasted ok but she wouldn't have another slice. :)

I'm a person who really likes pizza. I think any good pizza will taste good for me. :) But based on the opinion of others, I think. Pizza Hut's Viva Lasagna Pizza was a nice innovation in pizza, however, not all are open to changes. I rate this Pizza 8/10

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is one of the leading coffee shops here in the Philippines. Besides Starbucks Coffee, Coffee Bean has established its name as one of the best coffee there is. However, I will not compare Starbucks and Coffee Bean in this blog but say something about their Mocha Ice Blend I had yesterday with my baby.

I'm a Mocha Ice Blend drinker. I always have that drink whenever I go to a coffee shop.,except when I'm drunk, I usually have Cafe Latte'. :) It's kinda similar to the Mocha Frappucino of Starbucks. If you're going to compare, Mocha Ice Blend and Mocha Frappucino of Starbuck, I'm confident to say that Mocha Ice Blend is better that Mocha Frap. First, it's less sweet that Mocha Frap, which I like because, whenever I hava Moca Frap, I always have a cup of water with me. It is just too sweet for me. Mocha Ice Blend of Coffee Bean has this mixture of bitterness and sweetness which I really love for my coffee. It also has whip cream just like the Mocha Frap but, I don't know if you need to ask them to put chocolate syrup but they didn't put any unlike if you order Mocha Frap. The price is also a bit higher that Starbucks. It will cost you about 135 pesos for a regular size. They only have two sizes unlike the three sizes of Starbucks.
